Issue #23: Finalization ✅
A week of crafting a better MVP
This week’s update is gonna be brief for a few reasons:
it has been mostly about product development, so I’ll share the new features and the reason behind those,
I’ve not feeling so good since this morning, so I even forgot about writing the newsletter. It’s already 9:12 pm Rome time (I usually publish at 10 pm). 😅
So let’s go! 🚀

Streamlining the end-to-end UX
All the new features have the goal of streamlining the end-to-end UX.
The journey of the users can be summarized as follows:
project creation (onboarding)
submissions search
submissions reply drafting/generation
reply sending
Last week I shared the updated UX for navigating through the submissions, this week I worked on all the other parts of the journey.
Onboarding
The onboarding required filling out a form with these fields:
Name of the product,
Website of the product,
Description of the product,
Keywords to monitor.
I analyzed how the users created the projects and I realized that most of the time the description is a one-liner, and the keywords were not optimal. The problem is that the choice of those is critical for effectively monitoring the submissions.
For this reason, I simplified the onboarding to require only the website URL. ✨
One of the great things about having beta users while still working on the MVP is seeing how they interact with your product without influencing their behavior.
In @HaveYouHeard_io, before engaging with Reddit submissions to market your product, users had to create a project.… x.com/i/web/status/1…

Before the latest updates even if you can generate an answer with AI, it was necessary to copy-paste it directly on Reddit.
This has multiple issues:
friction: it’s annoying to go back and forth between different tabs,
the platform is not aware whether a reply has really been submitted or not,
there’s no possibility to link the actual answer and eventually track its stats.
For all these reasons I added the possibility to reply directly in-app. ✨
Here we go with another feature to make engaging with Reddit posts easier! 🤩
Until now, the final step required copying the reply and pasting it on Reddit. That's unnecessary friction.
For this reason, @HaveYouHeard_io now supports in-app replies! 🚀

Conclusion
I’m starting to wrap up what’s necessary to make HYH generally available:
revamp the landing page,
define the plans and pricing,
etc.
The goal for the end of next week is to be ready to make the product available to the public. Exciting weeks ahead! 🔥
