Issue #30: Workspaces and hero image 🖼️
HeyEcho new features ✨
I can now say that HeyEcho can generate high-quality blog posts! 🚀
However, it’s not yet ready to onboard real users. I think it’s fundamental as part of the MVP to be able to save them, list them, edit them, etc.

HeyEcho new features
Hero image
A hero image is fundamental to catching the readers’ attention. Attention is probably the most valuable asset nowadays, so I decided to add support for generating a hero image.
As part of the finalization steps, the generated content is used to prompt the hero image generation. In this way, the hero image is not a generic stock photo, but it’s an image that resonates with the actual content of the blog post. ✨
In the future, it will be interesting to further optimize it to reflect the customers’ brand and style.
🚀 Now HeyEcho.xyz supports generating the hero image! 🥳 I improved a lot the generated text! 💪 Next steps: - further refine the text, - prepare onboarding, - start getting feedback from real users. #buildinpublic #indiehackers

Workspaces
As mentioned in past issues, I’d like HeyEcho to be a CMS with an AI writing feature. For this reason, I’m working to add the concept of a “workspace”. A workspace corresponds to the product a user wants to generate blog posts for.
Having access to information like the name of the product, the website, the description, etc. will enable HeyEcho not only to write informative content but also content for users who might be already considering or deciding whether to buy or not the product.
Generating a high-quality blog post is great! But if you cannot save them, or edit, or list, etc. it's a bit meh... The first step for HeyEcho.xyz to have some CMS functionality is almost there! 🤩 One-click onboarding for workspace creation! 🚀 #buildinpublic #indiehackers

A look at Writesonic
Writesonic is a SaaS ($8M revenue in 2023) for creating AI content for different use cases, not only blog posts, funded in 2021. Yesterday I received an email with some updates:
Interestingly, fact verification has been shipped just now. On the other hand, this has been one of the main key features that I wanted for HeyEcho. 🚀
The most profitable project
This is kinda funny. 🤣
NextCommit has been the very first project and I’m not touching it for a very long time. But it’s also the only project generating revenue. 😅
Stripe dashboard of NextCommit
This actually made me need to update it today because I realized that during the checkout I was not asking for billing information other than the country. 🤦
Oh well… I guess my accountants will have something to say. 😬
Conclusion
Since HeyEcho is still actively being built, the latest updates are mostly about feature updates which might not be as interesting as customer acquisition and marketing, but hang in there! 😉
I hope you enjoyed this update!
